Can any other founders relate?
You build something from nothing. You achieve things you once only dreamed of. You sign clients, create impact, grow a team, hit revenue goals – and yet, instead of taking it in, you’re already onto the next thing??
That was SO me.
At PUSH Manager Training, we’ve had some, quite frankly, huge moments:
🏆 Growing the business to seven figures
🏆 Employing a team of 10 brilliant people
🏆 Winning Sainsbury’s Marketing Excellence Programme
🏆 Helping launch TikTok’s culture in its earliest days
🏆 Launching a free therapy service throughout the Pandemic
🏆 And this – working with Ruby Wax & Havas to reshape the way they approached mental health (remember this Ewen MacPherson, Charley Walsh, Lou Mossman?)
By anyone’s standards, these were huge milestones!
But did I feel it?? Did I hell. Ironically, the person who least believed in my success was the most important – me!
When I talked to friends about them, they’d say, ‘That’s incredible!’ and I’d respond with,
‘Yeah, but I’ve got this problem to fix… I’m worried about this… I just need to do this and then it will be okay!’
Sound familiar?
As founders, our brains are wired for the next challenge—the next goal, the next hurdle, the next ‘thing; that will finally make us feel like we’ve made it. But that means we rarely stop to recognise how far we’ve already come.
(*Note to all founders – tomorrow’s post is gonna be all about why our brains work like this!!)
So here’s my reminder to myself—and to you: Celebrate the moments. With your team, with yourself. Actually take them in. Because, quite honestly, what we do as founders is f*cking incredible. The strength, the tenacity, the passion it takes to start something from nothing and make it real? That’s not normal. That’s remarkable.
So today, take a second. Look at what you’ve built. And enjoy it.
